Category : Ocean City reports on the Beach Life
We couldn’t resist a trip down to the sunny inlet today to check out this year’s Springfest, especially as the town advertised:
The sun is shining, the weather is warm, and Springfest is finally here, May 5-8, with food, arts and crafts and live entertainment! Join Radio Disney AM 640, part of the #1 radio network for kids, tweens and families, at Springfest on May 8 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., where you and your kids can enjoy free performances by Roshon Fegan, star of “Shake It Up,” and Radio Disney’s “N.B.T.” season three winner, Kicking Daisies. Fans can take pictures and talk with Kicking Daisies during a meet and greet after the performance!
Don’t miss the fun, food, vendors, and entertainment. (ps: George Jones concert has sold out)
After what seems like two weeks of rainy, overcast, cool or downright chilly weather (yes, one night it snowed a couple inches!), I can hardly remember that beautiful, warm Spring day we recently had that got us all excited to be outside in the sunshine. Oh well, we know Spring is here according to the calendar…but c’mon this is Ocean City…I want the real deal …please.
The bad news? Slots at Ocean Downs. For those of us who have made too many deposits into “one arm bandits” over the years; you understand what I am saying . It’s a love /hate relationship. I love playing (correction I love winning) but usually they were far enough away for me to talk myself out of going (read: Harrington). Now they are available 10 minutes outside Ocean City! 10 Minutes! This is going to require some perserverance on my part when they are that close. Of course, I live in Ocean City and we have all the other pleasures to occupy our time; the beach, the boardwalk, the bay, great restaurants, etc….and sooo much cheaper!
I think Ocean City is hoping that not too many tourist/resident dollars are bet out at Ocean Downs; and now, not just on harness racing.
What do you think? Good news or bad news?
PS: Congrats to Kim on winning the first Ocean Downs Casino jackpot! (see photo courtesy oceandowns.com)

What is going on in Ocean City? Here we are in December, when real estate here usually goes on Holiday and everything slows down for us..but as crazy as it sounds we have never been busier !!
Here is a “HUMBUG!” to the recession; and Happy Holidays to us all!
It’s not that hard to believe we are in Mid August when dealing with the heat and traffic of Baltimore (my hometown). Visting recently with the twins it was just too hot and sticky to be outside. The city weather and coming across the RT. 90 bridge to come home after being away; reminds me of why humans flock to the beach in the summer…and this has been going on for generations… ahhh the Beach Life. Love it…lucky dogs all.
After almost two months of research, redesign and reorganization ( a lot of coffee too)..my all new website (same address http://www.occondo.com/ ) is up and running smoothly. Many thanks to all the nice people at www.homes.com , especially Stephanie Brunson…and the IT folks at http://www.agentadvantage.com/ especially Alana Carter for all the invaluable help and enthusiatic assistance….and, of course, my partner in life and real estate, my husband Dan. You can see I liked the “header” artwork so much i use it on my blog too! Re-building my site was a real learning experience and reminds all of us in business today how powerful the web and mobile devices are today…but it requires virtually constant attention to stay on “top of the game”. I hope you like it.
This is my first post from my new blog so please excuse any rookie mistakes. I hope I can somehow convey what it means to live or vacation in Ocean City, Maryland. Since I am a local Realtor® who has lived here for more than ten years, I know what “the beach life” means to those who have experienced it for themselves. It is something special and it is why I love OC…the best beach I know.
